Bad Movie studios: Halloween-A-Thon II – Frankenstein (1931)

Oh boy, I really liked hows this one came out. It was actually better than I thought it would be. There aren’t too too many videos left in Halloween-A-Thon until we get to the climax, but rest assured there’s going to be some fun stuff before it’s all said and done. So here’s the YOUTUBE link for the video. If you want something more reliable, or just somewhere to see more stuff, check out the FACEBOOK page. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!

Bad Movie Studios – Resident Evil: Revelations (2012) Review!

Okay, it’s a day later than I promised, but you can watch my RE:R review right on the Facebook page Here or on YouTube Here Yeah I know I said I was gonna abandon the YouTube page, but screw it. I’ll just keep uploading my videos there for the sake of it. They might not stay there forever though (due to the BS copyright thing on YouTube) so if you want to watch my videos, the Facebook page will forever play host to them as well. Also, I know I never ask for it, but a Like, Share or Comment on anything you watch would be greatly appreciated. It’s always good to know what the people who watch my stuff think about it.

So, moving on from that, You can also watch my last review, Beast of the Bering Sea (2013) on YouTube as well. If you missed it before you can watch it Here. That you can also watch (along with every other video and written review I have done over on the Facebook page. I know I keep promoing the page but since that’s like my home base I kind of have to.

So what’s next? Well I’m not quite sure. I have a few extra days off from work this week, and I wont be going back until Wednesday it looks like. So I’ll shoot for my next video on Tuesday because I have other engagements until then. I’m not 100% certain on what the review will be, but I’m leaning towards another game review, this time Godzilla: Domination (2002) on the Game Boy Advanced. I just watched someone on YouTube by the name of GojiFan93 play it and it brought back memories. So that’s what you can probably look forward to.

Well other than that, I don’t particularly have much else to update on. I’m trying to maintain some ensemble of a schedule and release content as often as possible. so far so good, I’ve gotten 2 new videos out in the span of a week. Not too bad for having been gone for a while. Now the entire time that I’ve been writing this section, I’ve been trying to think of some sort of witty ending statement like I did last time (granted it wasn’t amazing but it was passable for a D level Monty Python sketch I assume). But since nothing is coming to me I will instead quote the multi-time NY Times best Selling Author, 3 time WWE Champion and Hardcore Legend Mick Foley, as he quoted the renown Christmas figure and pop-culture icon Frosty the Snowman, by saying “I’ll say goodbye, but don’t you cry. I’ll be back again, some day.”

Bad Movie Studios: “Dr. Baracula” Film Update

Dr. Baracula” Film Update

By Bad Movie Studios

So I just wanted to write a short blurb about the movie. Well, the best I can say is, it’s coming. Filming has been fun, although production isn’t going quite as fast as I’d like. But that’s alright, something is better than nothing. So far what IS done and filmed has been edited and I like the way it’s coming out. It’s coming in bits and pieces, and that’s just making the process longer. On the bright side though, I get more time to make something good out of those edited pieces and increase my editing abilities. I have noticed though that I’m suffering from Creative Constipation. Basically, that’s like when you have an idea and start to pursue it but you all of a sudden get more idea that you cant do anything about yet. Yeah I have that. I;m not even done with this film and I’m already planning on other ones. That’s probably been the most difficult thing, staying the course and making sure I finish things. It’s also been hard to balance doing reviews for the website and filming time, as well as the issues that have come around with trying to film. Mother Nature hasn’t been as kind as I’d like. But I can’t blame it all on the weather, there’s been a definite hit on my enthusiasm. I’m keeping it up though, and hope to finish production soon. Then Post Production can starts and I can finish editing everything. I can’t wait for that because thankfully, I have stuff done already, so editing will just be a matter of putting the pieces together. So I guess the final thing for me to say, is that I can’t wait to finish my project and bring you “The Unexpected Evil of Dr. Baracula”. I’ve had more support than I ever thought I would for the film and it’s been a great learning experience so far. I look forward to releasing it, and hopefully giving everyone something that will entertain.

Bad Movie Studios Game Review: The USeful Dead (2013)

The Useful Dead (2013)

A Bad Movie Studios Game Review

So as I was perusing the Xbox Live Arcade looking for something to play, I came across The Useful Dead. It looked fairly interesting so I gave it a shot. And I’m glad I did. Now, if you’re familiar with my channel, then you’ll know that I pretty much focus my stuff on movies, and to be more specific, Horror Movies. Well, as a part of Convention Crusher Month, it’s just an excuse to do something different. So after playing this game last night, I thought, what the hell, I’ll write something about it. It wont be long, but I’ll give some insight none the less.

This game is a puzzle platformer, in the same vain as a game like Super Meat Boy (2010). If I’m gonna review this game, let me start right off the bat and say that as a platformer, it’s good. It functions well and the control is pretty smooth. And as far as the puzzles go, they’re pretty good too. It has a decent learning curve, staying familiar but becoming more difficult as you go along, without feeling unfair. Basically, you control these mini animal characters, and you must strategically commit suicide with the different characters, as to make sure that your next character can make it to the finish zone. Now, as I said, the puzzle’s are good, feeling challenging but not too bad. What helps add another level of difficulty to each level, is that you only have a limited number of animals that you can kill, so you have to try to use as few as possible as to not make your creatures “go extinct”.

The Useful Dead doesn’t reward your mindless creature killing though, and instead has more of a focus on using your mind rather than just forcing the demise of 15 animals and making a staircase of dead bodies so you can reach the end. But the cool part about this dynamic is that it doesn’t hinder you from doing that if you want to. You CAN make a staircase of dead bodies if you want, it’s just going to make the game more difficult later on. An interesting risk versus reward system. And after you play through a level a few times (you can restart them individually at any time, much like Angry Birds from 2009) you’ll get a better feel for them and do better, breezing through the earlier stages that were more difficult the first time around.

The graphics on this game are appealing, with the visuals being colorful and stylish. It’s just plain nice to look at and sort of reminds me of Happy Tree Friends with its style and all the blood. The sounds effects and music are decent too, but really it’s not like that’s something you’re going to be paying that much attention to anyway. And the gameplay is really addictive and even after getting my ass kicked the first way through, I gleefully started the game over again. Overall, its definitely worth checking out. It’s different and very fun. And the best part is, its only $1. Once I found out how much it was, I bought it on the spot. You never see games this good for $1, and as far as the Xbox Live Indie Titles go, this is by far the best I’ve played. So do yourself a favor and pick this up, it’s well worth it. That’s why I give The Useful Dead a 4 out of 5.

Pros – Good looking, good platforming, fun puzzles, adorable violence.

Cons – Having a kill limit is a bit annoying and some of the puzzles can be a bit repetitive.
